Vinitaly 2020 *CANCELLED*

A few weeks ago, the official announcement of Veronafiere (Vinitaly's organizer) arrived, even if the news was already on everybody's lips for months: Vinitaly 2020 is cancelled.

The Covid-19 emergency is been hitting all the Made in Italy sector hard. First the MIDO, the most important italian eyewear show, then the Salone del mobile (reference fair of the furniture sector), and now also Vinitaly, succumb to a situation that has very few precedents in recent history.

The decision was undoubtedly tough, so much that was even fixed a provisional date in June 2020, in order to save the 54th edition of the largest Italian wine fair. To highlight the seriousness of the situation, consider that this is the first time the organizer is forced to cancel Vinitaly. In fact, since the first one in September 1967, none edition of this annual wine show has ever been missed. Thus, the 2020 is going to be a year that will hardly be forgotten.

Our company can only agree with organizers' decision, as we cannot underestimate the danger of the Coronavirus worldwide spread. Indeed, since the beginning of the emergency in Italy, Santa Eurosia was intentioned to terminate its participation to Vinitaly for the 2020 if confirmed. The organizers, anyway, have had to surrender to the emergency eventually, and formalize the postponement of the event directly to April 2021, even before the restrictions imposed by Italian Government.

And now, we can only say #STAYHOME #NEVERGIVEUP
