Harvest 2024
Today the harvest work begins, with over 20 families of winemakers involved in the (strictly manual) collecting of Glera grapes, the basis of our Valdobbiadene DOCG and Prosecco DOC wines.
The climatic trend of the vintage was peculiar, as April and May had been very rainy and characterized by temperatures lower than the average, followed by high temperatures and very little rainfall in July and August, with also some of so-called "tropical nights" where the temperature did not go under 20C°.
We therefore decided to start the harvest earlier than usual, in order to preserve the acidity content , fundamental in the production of sparkling wines, which tends to drop quickly in years with hot summers like the one just gone by.
